The HydroCAT-EP can collect high quality data for several months up to a year. Excellent bio-fouling protection is provided by US EPA-approved anti-foulant devices, integral pump, and unique internal flow path, which minimizes flow between samples and provides stable measurements throughout a deployment. Conductivity and temperature sensors are based on field proven Sea-Bird Electronics (SBE) CTD products. The aged and pressure- protected thermistor has a long history of exceptional stability and accuracy. The oxygen sensor was designed by SBE to meet the demand for a low maintenance and high accuracy sensor for use in applications such as hypoxia monitoring. All HydroCAT sensors are built with careful choices of materials and geometry combined with superior electronics and calibration methodology to optimize field performance. The new pH sensor is also included in the pumped flow path offering excellent stability and performance in high fouling conditions. The SBE 39-plus is an enhanced version of the popular SBE-39 with enhanced memory and reporting formats, more sample rate options and USB interface. It is a high-accuracy temperature (pressure optional) recorder with internal battery and non-volatile memory for deployment at depths up to 10,500 meters (34,400 feet). The 39 plus is intended for moorings or other long-term, fixed-site applications, as well as shorter-term deployments on nets, towed vehicles, or ROVs. Calibration coefficients are stored in EEPROM, and uploaded data is in ASCII engineering units (°C/°F and decibars or psi).
