Managing Director

Terry Sloane

Terry has been involved in ocean engineering in one form or another for 40 years. Trained originally as an electronics engineer, he is a fellow of both IMarEST & the Royal Meteorological Society.

Terry serves as chairman of the Marine Science & Technology Group (formally AMSI, a constituent group of the Society of Maritime Industries), a member of the IMarEST Science & Technology Advisory Group and is a council member of the Challenger Society for Marine Science. Terry is a member of the Mary Rose Trust, learning and education team and provides guest lecturers in data logging to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in marine archeology; he has also been a technical consultant to the BBC.

Terry has served as both technical director and sales and marketing director of some of the industry’s best known companies and formed Planet Ocean Ltd in 2003.

Carole Sloane

Carole, is co owner of Planet Ocean, and supports the business in many and varied ways especially at the many exhibitions, shows and seminars we undertake. Carole looks after the HR aspects of the business.

Carole is responsible for HR within the company, travel and accomodation and also liaises with our partners and clients visiting the UK ensuring their visits are as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Sales & Business Development Manager

Iain Vincent

Iain, holds a first class honours degree in marine environmental science and has considerable business experience most recently demonstrated in his role as director and co-founder of De-energise Ltd developing energy reduction strategies for SME’s in the production sector.

Iain, holds a first class honours degree in marine environmental science and has considerable business experience most recently demonstrated in his role as director and co-founder of De-energise Ltd developing energy reduction strategies for SME’s in the production sector. Iain is tasked with developing our complete business package, with particular focus on the biogeochemistry range of systems, notably the Sea-Bird Scientific Group of companies, CONTROS PCO2 and PCH4 sensors, Sequoia LISST systems and Flow-CAM. Iain also manages our special projects.

Iain is a founder member of the Society of Maritime Industries, Marine Autonomous Systems Group and leads our ecoSUB AUV team.

Iain, is a trustee of a charity based in West Africa delivering water solutions to rural communities and enjoys outdoor pursuits especially diving, surfing and running.

Accounts and Finance Manager

Danny Robinson

Danny looks after our finances and has worked with Terry in different roles for many years. She probably knows more about how the business works than anyone else! Nothing gets past her eagle eyes and she keeps us on a firm financial foundation.

Outside of Planet Ocean, Danny is very active in her community and has been a school governor for 7 years, is a Trustee and Treasurer for a local charity and also provides French tuition, both private and also taking classes for a local junior school and nursery. Danny enjoys running and keeping fit. She spends an excessive amount of her spare time entering obstacles/mud races. She also has a handbag and shoe addiction!

Commercial Manager

Graham Sloane

Graham joined the Company in 2010 as commercial manager. Graham graduated from The University of Winchester with an honours degree before joining Microsoft Atlas as an account executive. Graham specifically looks after service and support, shipping, QA/QC, H&S, and compliance. Graham is also our ROV specialist.

Graham joined the Company in 2010 as commercial manager. Graham graduated from The University of Winchester with an honours degree before joining Microsoft Atlas as an account executive where his clients included such notable companies as O2, Vodafone and Volvo. Prior to moving across to Planet Ocean, Graham was with brand experience specialists Blue Dog Productions, once more with a portfolio of prestigious clients including amongst others, B.A.A, CISCO, Emirates and Trend Micro. Graham takes care of all commercial aspects of the company, QA Compliance, organising exhibitions, Servicing and RMA , building services as well as taking responsibility for a growing range of our products. Graham is our ROV specialist and undertakes pilot training for our customers.

Formally, an accomplished footballer, he is no longer Premier League standard and has taken up CrossFit in a big way, and competes to stay in shape. Happiest at Glastonbury with a warm cider in hand.

Chief Robotics Engineer - Marine Robotics Systems

Jeremy Sitbon

Jérémy leads our robotics design and development group and joined us in 2015 after graduating from the Engineering school Polytech Paris-UPMC part of Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris, France), with a major in robotics engineering, where he undertook an internship With the French Defense Procurement working on micro-UAV’s vision systems.

Jérémy has overall responsibility for all technical aspects of ecoSUB AUVs with special responsibility for software.

Jérémy is an accomplished pianist and drone pilot.

He is based at our R&D facility at the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre located within the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.

Robotics Engineer

Alex Downer

Alex graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in electronics engineering, and also has extensive software experience. Alex works exclusively on our ecoSUB range of micro AUV systems.

Outside of work, Alex runs a Youth Theatre group “Rising Stars Productions” which he founded at the age of eighteen. In 2015, he received the City of Southampton Award for his work with Rising Stars. Alex also enjoys kayaking with family and friends.

He is based at our R&D facility at the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre located within the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.

Junior Robotics Engineer - Marine Robotics Systems

Ayana Benyon-Marno

Ayana graduated from Plymouth University with a degree in robotics engineering.
Ayana works on our ecoSUB range of AUV’s, with special responsibility for the integration of new sensors.

Ayana competed at the Cheer and Dance World Championships with her all-star cheerleading team, in Florida, 2015.

She is based at our R&D facility at the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre located within the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton.
