Starmon mini is a underwater temperature recorder designed for use
in oceans, rivers, and lakes. Starmon mini records the
temperature and stores the data into an internal memory . When Starmon mini is
connected to a PC computer, the software can be used to set up the
sampling interval and start time of the recordings. After the
recorder has been recovered from the deployment site, the data can be
retrieved by connecting the Starmon mini to a PC computer and use the
software to upload data from the recorder. Starmon mini is available in non-corrosive
titanium housing.
Sensors: Temperature
Memory Size: 350,000
measurements
Battery Life: 7 years
(battery replaceable)
Depth: Plastic version to
400m, Titanium version down to 11,000m
Temperature Accuracy: +/-
0.05°C
- Starmon mini is an accurate, stable,
durable, reliable and easy to use temperature data logger with a
large memory capacity and long battery life
- Designed for use in oceans, rivers and
lakes

DST CTD and DST CT are the smallest salinity loggers on
world market. The DST CTD is specially designed as an archival tag for
tagging fish for analysing fish migration, distribution, feeding
behaviour, vertical and horizontal movements. DST CTD and DST CT must be
fastened externally on the fish as the salinity sensor must be in direct
contact with the seawater. Star-Oddi can provide fasteners for
external attachment if used as an archival tag. The archival tags
are ideal for research on other marine animals as well. The recaptured
archival tag can provide valuable information on the behavioural patterns
of the tagged animal. For recapture and return purposes, customers can
define their own text on the housings. The housing is made of
bio-compatible material, which does not endanger the health of the tagged
animal. The non-transparent housing ensures that the sunlight does not
affect the measuring and therefore provides more reliable data.
DST CTD is also used as a stand-alone logger for sampling in the
oceans. DST CT without depth recordings is ideal for mooring
applications, at a fixed known depth, increasing the memory size, and
lowering the price. For applications as fastening the CTD to fishing
gear, Star-Oddi offers a protective plastic housing, for use under more
harsh conditions (see pictures below). |

DST milli-T is a small waterproof data logger
measuring temperature. Data are stored into a non-volatile
memory. All measurements are time related, utilising a real time
clock inside the DST. |
|
 |
DST micro is a tiny Data Storage Tag that measures two
parameters, temperature and depth (pressure), and stores the
measurements in an internal memory of the tag. All measurements are
time related, utilizing a real time clock inside the tag. The tag is
based on an ultra small microprocessor and microelectronics. The DST
housing is made of biocompatible material. The user can define his
own text on housing for recapture purposes. |

The DST centi
series is a small underwater data logger available with one or two
sensors, temperature and depth , for temperature and depth (pressure)
logging. Data is stored into a non-volatile memory. All measurements are
time related, utilising a real time clock inside the DST. The advantage
that DST centi has over the DST milli small TD logger, is that it has
longer battery life, and memory size can be extended to 261,916
measurements (DST centi-ex). However it's larger in size. |

DST pitch and roll
measures additionally to temperature and depth, relative pitch and roll
movements of the DST, with reference to the earth gravity. The measuring
parameters are measuring the gravity movements in two directions:
The picture shows the measuring directions of the sensor relative to the
DST housing.
The DST pitch and roll tag allows the scientist to take frequent sampling
of the orientation of fish using different sampling intervals. Measuring
resolution is better than 1°.
The sensor can be used for analysing movements of marine animals as well
as various underwater gear. For analysing fish movements, it is advised to
fasten the tag at both ends for avoiding / limiting movements of the tag.
The tag has a measuring range of approximately +/- 80° in each direction. |

DST GPS measures
temperature, pressure (depth) and listens to an acoustic GPS signal from
sonar. Data is stored in a non-volatile internal memory. All recordings
are time related, utilising a real time clock inside the recorder.
The DST GPS is equipped with unique user specified features for optimising
the tag's performance when receiving GPS position.

Star-Oddi has developed Underwater Tagging Equipment (UTE) for tagging
fish down in the oceans. Being the first company to offer equipment for
this purpose makes Star-Oddi a pioneer in the technology of tagging fish
underwater. The equipment has revolutionized methods for fish tagging and
fisheries research. The equipment is inserted in the ship's fishing trawl
net to perform the operation underwater. |
