DST micro
The small TD logger is a Data Storage Tag that measures two parameters, temperature and depth (pressure), and stores the measurements in an internal memory of the tag.  All measurements are time related, utilizing a real time clock inside the tag.  The tag is based on an ultra small microprocessor and microelectronics.  The DST housing is made of biocompatible material.  The user can define his own text on housing for recapture purposes.

Research applications
Data Storage Tag in micro size, is specially intended for studying behaviour of small fish (salmon smolt, herring mackerel).  The tag can be applied externally or implanted into the fish, although internal tagging method is recommended for salmon smolts.  The small size makes it possible to tag small salmon before they start sea migration.  This means that it is possible to sample information on the total roundtrip of salmon from smolt to grilse stage.  The small size of the DST micro opens up many other possibilities for monitoring depth/pressure and/or temperature inside small containers, vials and animals. 


Easy to use
Communications and data transfer is wireless through the communication box and no need for opening the tag (logger).  The DST micro TD logger can be reused as long as battery inside lasts.  Prior to applying the tag to the fish or other subject, the user sets the start time and sampling interval.  The DST can be operated with up to 7 different sampling intervals within a measurement sequence, which can be convenient if more frequent measurements are needed in between.  The user selects numbers of samplings within each sampling interval.  After recapture of tag, the data is retrieved with the communication box, using the SeaStar Windows software.
